Our History

The idea behind Fitness Culture may have started in the mid 80's when I bought my first copy of the Weider Principles and a weight bench.  It's concept however, continues to grow and evolve to this day.

At 14,  was armed with a distaste of bullies as well as a dissatisfaction with my personal appearance. So, I was bound and determined to change my body and unknowingly my health as well. I soon outgrew my basement gym and opted for the less secluded environment of a commercial facility. I was introduced to the world of martial arts, as well as a vast array of fitness philosophies and commercial equipment. This life style helped carry me through many of life's ups and downs and has always remained the one constant I could rely on.

Sadly, as I watched,  people of every kind would become short-term members in the various facilities I belonged. I noticed, there was a trend. After someone signed up, they would struggle with personal direction, equipment usage and a general feeling of being overwhelmed. This would lead to poor attendance, little or no results and eventually membership forfeiture.

I've decided I want an environment that would change that!
